COLOR TERMS:
Often when discussing color with clients it can seem like we are speaking a foreign language and though most people know intuitively what they like or what they want being able to apply specific terms to those ideas is often out of most peoples comfort zone. Below we have highlighted a few of those terms so that when you are reading an article or doing some research on color choices for your upcoming project you might have a point of reference for them. Enjoy!
The “hue” is what we call a color such as red, yellow, etc.
The “value” is how light or dark the color is.
The “saturation” is how dominant the hue is. For instance the dominance in the color pink is less that of red than white.
The “intensity” of a color refers to it’s brilliance or strength. Pure colors such as blue are more intense than combined colors like green-yellow.
